To ensure AMI provides “global coverage” for maritime force developments, to include new construction, modernizations, as well as future shipbuilding trends, the attached spreadsheet was designed to focus and validate WNPR reporting based on the following criteria:

  • Identify the top 208 global economies based on Gross Domestic Income (GDI), (formerly gross domestic product).
  • Of the 208 global economies, identify the ocean based countries with a maritime force which includes a navy, coast guard, or maritime border guard.
  • Categorize these countries with a maritime force that possess the GDI and exports revenues available to build and maintain a maritime force.
  • And, identify those countries who have committed to organizations which require a naval force for mutual defense.

Using these criteria, AMI is able to determine the most important countries to focus efforts on for the economic benefit of our clients.  Of the 158 nations that possess a maritime force, 72 of these countries are reported in WNPR totaling 552 naval projects worldwide.  We hope this background and the spreadsheet can assist you in better understanding where to focus your attention in the world naval market.
