TITLE:  Assistant Naval Market Consultant

Location:  Bremerton, Washington

POSITION SUMMARY:  This position reports directly to the President and provides an excellent opportunity for rapid promotion within the company.  Primarily provides assistance to the President, who is also our Senior Consultant, performing all tasks and projects as required; and occasionally assists the President with his positions in various community organizations and public relations events. Follows international political, military, economic, and naval industry trends in trade press, business and government publications and Internet.

Position to provide research and analytical support to the lead consultants and clients on a range of naval and defense industry topics.  Oversees invoicing, contracts, and time management of consulting operations.  Often assists in event coordination and business development.

CAREER PATH: This position provides the environment to learn the naval market consulting business and has the expectation to promote to full Naval Market Consultant.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:  BA/MA preferred or equivalent experience. Education in military, political, or naval analysis, international affairs or equivalent experience is desired.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND/KNOWLEDGE:  Experience in international affairs. Knowledge of naval ships and systems a plus. US navy service a plus. Strong research and analytical background required. Fluency in a foreign language helpful. 

SKILLS:  Excellent oral and written communication skills in a professional business setting are required. Candidate must be a proven self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  Creative problem solving skills needed.  Work in a multi-tasked environment as supporting team member.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access and Internet researching desired. Training provided.

APPEARANCE/PERSONALITY:  Team player with good sense of humor and patience needed to work smoothly and effectively with company colleagues and clients.  Relationship builder with the ability to work with national & international clients. Dress requirements are casual except when attending functions with clients where professional attire is worn.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to work in a small company environment (less than 20 employees) where flexibility and teamwork are necessary.

NORMAL WORKING HOURS & DAYS OF WORK:  Working hours are 40+ hours a week, Monday through Friday, some weekends.  Hours of the day are somewhat flexible. Travel will be required.
